Cigarette Lighter replacement

Anyone found a good cigarette lighter socket replacement with a light ring for a '79? Damned thing will work with the original lighter but I get nuthin when I plug anything else into it.

cheers

never had an issue with an oem lighter socket on any of the SA's that i've owned. i've used radar detectors and phone chargers etc with it. before replacing the socket check the fuse on the accessory plug that you are trying to use. try different plugs and see if any work. if not, oem units are out there.

Mine is kind of flaky too. I cleaned it with a wire brush (take out the fuse first!) like the kind you clean battery terminals with. That helped, but it is still intermittent depending on the contact design of the outlet plug used.

It's all the same stuff I use in my Bimmer.

I'll try a cleanup for now.

If yours isn't working you could just try to get one out of a part out and swap it in, if the cleaning doesn't work.

Don't buy a universal. I did and now half of my interior lights don't work.. And neither does the lighter.

If anyone finds a usb plug that works well, post a pic. Hate not being able to charge my phone.

I have one of those for sale right now. It is listed under parts for sale section.
