Choke is always on

There is a sensor on the back of the waterpump housing, hidden by the alternator. That sensor controls the choke through the ecu. Even if it is not working, the choke knob should return to the off position on it's own, unless the wires are unplugged from the back of it.

If the choke butterfly is not opening up, check the choke cable itself and adjusment of the choke.

Actually only with the wires that go to the sensor connected together can you make the choke knob stay magnetized and thus not returning by itself.

But what he is referring to is that the knob is loose.

Follow the cable in the engine bay that actuates the choke and make sure is not disconnected from the throtle linkage. It might be kinda hard to see if your engine is stock.

Hey bro, I had that problem before. Do the follow. Turn the car on with the choke all the way like you are warming it up. If it stay that is ok and now go to the engine bay and look at the choke cable and follow it to near the carb. You will notices is bent like a upside "U" and that is because the little plate or lever that it holds to is stock. Get some WD40 and Spray the plate that the cable attach it self too. Move it back and forward and you will notices it will not get stock any more. Continue the process over and over until that plate dosen't stick any longer.

P.S. You can do this with the engine off but I want you to see which plate is the one that drop the chock so you know which one to spray. If anything I will take a picture of mine and point to you which one I am talking about.

Good luck mate!
