cat converter?
How long will a cat last with no air supply to it? Just an est. be fine
|
Well lets see no fresh air supply, means 1) it wont do its job 2) it will overheat Id give it a month, maybe 2 at most :)
Why? Are you running it w/o it? Why not just cut it off and weld a new pipe... |
Long story but when I got the car I was just getting to know different sources for parts. Ended up putting a Bonz converter set up from RP performance and didn't bother to hook up the hose to it because it wasn't there. Anyways that was back in late 1999. It seems to have all kinds of power still. Local mechanic said that it will just blow out the exhaust. So what do you thing? Blow out exhuast or clogged???

the air hose wasn't hooked up to my Random tech cat, i had an emission test done on my car about 2 hrs after it was installed and passed no problem, that was 2 years ago. i just had to do another test in March and it almost killed everyone in the shop they were so bad. (i wasn't aware that the air wasn't hooked up!) about 2 months before that the cover came off the cat while i was on the highway, i assume because it was overheating
ANYWAYS, the car still had lots of power and drove great so at least for the Random cat, it didn't clog. |
