Got any pics of the engine with the carb, I want to see it. Sorry I don't know how to wire it either, I'm sure some one does on here.

I wouldn't mind taking a look for ya. Gotta download the FSM for the S5's then I will peek at it.
If I were you I would keep the 2nd gen leading coil pack instead of reverting to 1st gen coils.
The 2nd gen coils are a noticeable upgrade coming from stock coils. IIRC you just gut the
leading ignitor and solder the 2 outsides together and the 2 inside tabs together. Not sure if
this is for the 2nd gen coils or for MSD setup, I've had too much ignition changes lately

Ill take my coil off and look at it if you can be sure about cutting and soldering is on the stock 2nd gen then ill go ahead and do that.

A good bit of the first gen guys run second gen coil for leading and a first gen coil for trailing. Easiest way is to use an electronic dizzy from an 81-85. These have the igniter built onto the housing.

On the Fc leading coil remove the wires running from the mounting base going up to the pos and neg post. See picture, Red X is the wires to remove.

Run a switched 12V to the positive terminal on the FC coil and first gen coil.

Run a wire from the positive of the FC coil to the plug on the igniter closest to the front of the car. There are two terminals in the shape of a "T", use the top of the "T".

Run a wire from the positive of the first gen coil to the igniter plug closest to the alternator. There are two terminals in the shape of a "T", use the top of the "T".

Run a wire from the neg of the FC coil to the igniter closest to the front of the car. Use the vertical terminal of the "T" shape.

Run a wire from the neg of the first gen coil to the igniter plug closest to the alternator. Use the vertical terminal of the "T" shape.

Run the plug wires from the first gen coil to the "leading" spot on the dizzy cap.
Run the plug wires from the leading 1 and leading 2 spots on the dizzy cap to the trailing spark plugs.

Run the plug wires from the FC coil directly to your leading plugs.

The car will run. Not sure how to hook up the tack on a FC. If you find the correct wire in the FSM you can run it to the negative of the coil.

Makes sure your switch 12V source also has power when the key switch is in the start position as well as the on position.

And yes, I have the plug wires listed correctly for the trailing. By using the leading side of the dizzy cap and rotor button you will see better spark.

I did the FC coil direct fire (without MSD 6A or 6AL). its ok but IMHO, not a significant improvement over stock.
