Carb spacer numbers: 1985 Nikki

What number should be molded into the spacer that is paired with a non-cali spec '85 Nikki carb? I'm troubleshooting some issues and I may have an incorrect spacer between my carb and intake mani.

Thanks

This would be a good concept to expand to a comprehensive list, and then to the Archives.

Sorry that I don't know the specific answer to your question. I think it has something to do with the build ID ("Model number") for the car, though, as documented in the parts fiche on the Model Identification page.

Neal Swigert (KanseiRotary) said he thinks it should have the number "1480" molded into it, but he couldn't remember for sure. I'll look around the forums on lunch.

According to the earlier fiche that I have, there's only one part number for the "Insulator" for all 81/83 cars... which is 1480-13-220B.

Same fiche shows a total of 8 different carb part numbers in that year range.

On the SA side, There are 2 spacers listed: one for manual trans (8871-13-220B) and one for auto trans (8872-13-220A)

Numbering on my currently-used spacer is 8871, so that checks.

84/85 parts fiche also shows only one part number for a 12A insulator, of 1480-13-220B; same as the one used 81/83.

i was gonna say, i think there was only one... DD, i'm actually working (well working is a strong word... i've started it though) a spreadsheet that tracks changes to the SA's

When looking at the top of the carb spacer, the numbers cast into the plastic should be readable from the passenger quarter panel (with the carb/mani mounted to the engine), correct?

The ones I've seen, they are along the "rightmost" edge of the spacer skirt - - the part that hangs out over the exhaust - - and in raised type about 1/2" tall.

Yep, thats how you can tell if its upside down or not. Cause it is possible to put it
on updside down, I've heard of that happening before. I have an 85 nikki and the
number on the spacer with it is the 1480 one as well.
