Carb Inefficancy

I was wondering, the snorkle on my carb points directly into my hood and so it doesn't get a free flow of air. Would it make sense to put a fan into the snorkle connected to a switch to blow air into the carb making better efficancy?

i don't think so. thats not a great way of increasing volumetric efficiency. just a way of throwing dirty air into your air cleaner assembly.

Yes, it makes sense, but it doesn't actually work.
First, the fan would have to blow the maximum amount of air that your engine can ingest to be effective. (big fan!) Secondly, the air from under the hood is passing through the exhaust and around the engine...it's warm air.

The absolute best thing you can do is run a hose to a "cold air box" intake somewhere in the grille.

Do a search- there are some nicely done ones here.
