Carb Carb Carb and oil cooler

ok one of my float bowls is clean, well sorta, and the other was rusted to the nuts... i mean hardcore rusted i cleaned it out as best i could but couldnt get it all, its mainly just stain now... i dont know much about carbs this is my first tear down, and im loving it and doing what i tihgnk is a fairly good job... putting lotsa time into it... my question is how do i get the rest of that rust out and how would i clean that little whole at the bottom of the bowl ? its really bad and i cant clean it ill probibly have to buy some kinda tool.

now the oil cooler, i have a beehive, 85 gs. im wonder if i can remove this ? and go with an oil cooler in the front of the car. if so how do i go about it and what needs to be done to remount the oil filter ?

thanks in advance

The body is made of pot metal. It doesnt rust like steel, but it does get alot of nasty gunk in it. You need some really strong nasty carb cleaner to soak it in and the crap will loosen up. You can also have it bead blasted afterwards to get the crap outta the nooks and crannies, then wash thoroughly to get any remaining glass bead out. Then finally blow compressed air through ALL the passages to make sure they arent clogged and that they are hospital clean. Thats how I do my carbs. Oh and dont lose the plastic sleeves if you removed the booster venturis.

Do a search, theres plenty of info on doing the oil cooler swap.
