Car Wont Start!

I'm in a jam right now. My car is sitting at school and it won't start. No it's not flooded, i went through that procedure. I think my car is running on one rotor. The few times i did get it to start is was stumbling hardcore and not idling worth shit, way under 800. Could i have a faulty ignitor, sparkplug (bout 3 months old), wire, coil, fuse, anything?! I need some answer and what i can do to test whats wrong. I didn't get the chance to see if i was getting spark because my ride was leaving. PLEASE HELP!

Forgot to add that on the way to school my car completely died. I pulled off to the side and had to crank it a couple times before it started. I'm assuming this is an electrical problem, but what components they are is the question. HELP

You said you actually got it to start. Did you try and keep it running and it would die or what? What model is it? When my leading igniter went out my car would not even fire, so if it is firing the igniter might be good.

I would first try and swap the coils around. Maybe a coil went out. Then see if you can swap the igniters around. (The leading igniter is the most important, and the car will not run unless it is working.) Then check to see if it is getting fuel. Let me know how things go.

My auto tech teacher said that the only way to tell if your apex seals are going is that it will be hard to start. sp maybe you should try a compression check. (but then again he said that apex seals are made of rubber)

85 GSL-SE When i first started it, it was stumbling real bad, i tried to rev it up and it was trying, got up to about 3k but it wanted to die and did. I'm sure it has to be running one rotor, i open the hood and it was just shaking with the idle.

My car has been running tip top lately, starts up great in the cold and runs great when warm, i don't think it's an apex seal.

i know its getting gas because i had to unplug my fuel pump and start it to get it to go then plug it back in, smelled like gas HELLA too.

Fuel injector clogged - Seems like running on one rotor, could be fuel injector for that rotor is clogged and/or not firing. Check by getting a mechanics stethescope with the metal rod and run it down to the injector with the engine running - listen for 'clicking' from the injector. No 'click', no fuel.

Fuel filter clogged/fuel pump - decreased power, leaning out at higher rpm's. Replace fuel filter/fuel pump.

Fuel injector harness intermittent (electrical connection) - 'running on one rotor' caused by fuel injector harness not making good contact with injector body - move harness around with engine running poorly, see if condition/idle improves when you move the harness. If so, replace harnesses (Borg-Warner, Autozone) for BOTH injectors and try again.

Ignitor (Leading/Trailing) - swap leading/trailing ignitors, if idle improves, get a new ignitor for trailing. Check all wiring of coils to cap and rotor, check all wiring to plugs - look for abrasions or worn/cracked wires.

Plugs - check for fuel, drenched then flooded. Unflood by removing 'Injection' fusible link, then cranking.

Check these and report back - SE's are pretty easy to work on once you know what to look FOR. HTH,
