car not starting, terminal corrosion

This may seem pety but i want to make sure i dont mess anything up

LAtely my car has been dieing after its been running for a few days, all winter actually... so its been garaged alot.

I have charged the battery and it will start up fine for a day or two, then after that i will go to start it and nothing at all...

i noticed some corrosion on the terminals, actually looks like the positive terminal has been eaten away by bettery acid on one side. I purchased some new terminals from auto zone, the only thing i was wondering about is on the positive side there are two wires going inside. IS it safe to cut the wires and strip both of them at the end and have them touch? or should i but a connecter with seperate holes for wires?

Both wires are positive, strip them and clamp both into the new clamp. Not a problem.

Just watch the acid... that shit is painful... I just cleaned off my terminals, so the acid was hard and flaky, some how in the process i got abunch on my hands, didn't hurt at first.. but then i went to spray down the driveway.

Water+Acid = Mucho pain
