Ah, it'll buff right out.

treynon 10-06-05 02:18 AM

haha, u mean cut right out

jays83gsl 10-06-05 02:25 AM

Nah, just get some good polish, and a picture of how it SHOULD be, and polish it, and paste the picture there!

treynon 10-06-05 03:24 AM

haha and that will be my budget method of magically making my car better. sweet!

Buffing?? No! Polishing?? No! Now, WD40 will fix that baby up like new. Two sprays should do the trick.. You can thank me later!

saltyslug 10-06-05 10:14 AM

I baught the car like this. for 700 bones. this is the only thing thats wrong with it though.

racintang 10-06-05 11:48 AM

nascar style duct tape so it will match your paint

treynon 10-06-05 12:08 PM

haha

trochoid 10-06-05 12:29 PM

I have one that looks similiar, not quite as bad. I cut the entire front clip off of a parts car, just in front of the shock towers. I don't need that much, just saved that much. Carefully inpect the inner fender, in front of the shock tower and look for any wrinkles or waves. You will need to cut behind those for the repair. Also check the frame rails for any bending downwards.

treynon 10-06-05 01:42 PM

heres some pi cs without fender

these make it look not as bad... the bottom one is the frame rail which is straight dont let the angle of the headlight bucket fool you.

Not to bad. Just give it a little tug and then use washers to align the head light bucket.

jays83gsl 10-06-05 03:59 PM

No, really, I was joking because it's really not bad. I've bouhgt cars with equal body damage for the same price, so. . . .

treynon 10-06-05 07:38 PM

ttt, anyone kno the technical name for that part? the autobody place called it something like an " upper tie bar " or something.

MIKE-P-28 10-07-05 07:27 AM

Im more interested in seeing how far pushed back the radiator support is. :) When you close the hood where does the end of the hood end? It looks to me like its bent back about an inch to inch 1/2. Only way to fix that and do it properly is a new radiator support. Pretty easy repair as long as all the parts are off it. Of course I say easy, easy for me, Ive done it a few times and I have the 'proper' tools to do it. Thats a typical slam into the back of someone else's car, didnt hit the bumper went under the car accident :) You got to remember there are some seriously important measurements in that area. Theres the hood left to right, front to back, diagonal etc. Then you have the headlights in the same direction. If you dont replace that thing right the body lines will NEVER be right and you headlights will NEVER be adjusted properly. A new radiator support IS THE ONLY WAY to fix it. Get a frame spec measurement from a body shop and chnage the entire piece.

She looks in pretty good nick :) Good luck with her

Siraniko 10-07-05 10:53 AM

You should just "JUNK IT", save the good parts and buy a new shell. It shoudnt be hard to find since you're in SOCAL. I may have one for sale in the next few months. ;)

treynon 10-07-05 07:37 PM

the auto place quoted me 200 bux. . . im keepin diz shit and gettin it back on the road... no lower frame damage no foul imo =/.

you guys will wanna kill me after what i put into it though, and no its not LS1 or 5.0.
