Can I Run NGK BUR9EQP Spark Plugs?
That's the question, can I run these spark plugs in my 1985 12A Gs?? Mods in sig
Thanks guys |
Anyone feel free to chime in, now would be a great time!
|
You can but it would be a big waste of money.
|
they're only 6 bucks each.....so they will work ok?
thanks! |
Refresh my memory, those are 2nd gen plugs? If so they will work with the 2nd gen coil.
|
they are actually 3rd gen plugs
|
See no need to use them then. I would stay with the same oem plug, then change heat ranges as needed.
|
they work fine. called up www.rx7.com and they were nice enough to give me the info :)
|
I use them on my 1st gen but I also have a 3rd motor :)

thanks! BUR9EQP are 3rd gen. spark plugs. They're the same as 2nd gen. except they're platinum and more expensive. I just don't see the point in spending extra money on late model plugs in a 1st gen. as they're more likely to foul. |

Just go buy a cheap set of plugs, you wont notice the difference. Any performance gain you get isnt worth the extra cash. Besides if you foul them it is cheap to replace them

I run FC plugs in mine at the moment. Autozone/Oreilly's stock the BUR#EQ and BUR#EQP, they do NOT stock the 1st gen plugs. Non-platinums run $5.50 or so each, and platinums typically $6.50/ea or so.
I noticed a difference, but my old plugs were beyond their lifespan, so that is to be expected. :) |
