Can I get more power?

First off it's not what youre thinking.

The blower motor for my car seems a bit weak in my 83, I can't remember riding in any 1st gen that had a powerful blower - I'm talking mess your hair up wind forces - like you would find on just about any other car. Anyway, I want more wind force, anyone know if I have any options in this field.

When I was fixen my car up I had the same problem with the air hardly comming out. I thought it was the motor at first but when I got under and looked at the vent system I saw that there was the big spaces between the air ducts. I dont know what was there before but I got some black duck tap and wraped two of them and now I have much better flow.

I've had the dash out and there werent any gaps or anything, the blower is just weak, I pretty much wanna know if it would be worth buying a new one.

Anyone got a first gen with lots of air velocity?

Mine does, but I don't have the A/C evaporator in it anymore, I think that helps, (less restriction.- the whole a/c was removed to save weight, etc.). You may want to check your evaporator(if you have A/C) or your heater core. They can become clogged up with dust and dirt, restricting the airflow alot. Anyway, hope that helps.

Have you pulled the blower motor; it could defiantly be years of accumulation of stuff in the system. This spring I replaced the blower motor on my Corvette, the velocity of the air didn't improve much from the original. Think the biggest difference came from cleaning up the accumulated crap and blowing out the system.

Don’t know why your even messing with it since Houston doesn’t get all that hot….LOL
