Camden Supercharger Alternatives (No Turbos!)
 

Been looking into the 7" Camden kit for quite awhile. Getting research feedback from different forums, ect. This is for stock 12A application, street car with moddified Yaw Nikki, and RB header.
The kit is a bit pricey, and as I understand it, it uses straight rotors, and straight teeth gears. It also (hearsay, so far) takes 70 HP to turn it; or at least is very ineffecient even as far as roots style blowers go.

I would like an Eaton SC, helical rotors, 30* pitch teeth, that supposedly takes 40-50 HP to turn. Eatons are used in a lot of production cars, and I trust that they are very good quality.

So I propose to go to the junk yard, and enquire about "such 'n such" car that has an Eaton to get a price on a used one. Then I'll weigh that along with the countless hours of machining parts and making it work, to simply buying a lesser quality SC that'll bolt right on.
I realized with the Eaton project I may very well have to do things like take a can opener to the hood, and that's o.k. I can also figure out how to suspend a gigantic wieght from the side of the engine, ect.

What I would like to know is what cars were produced with Eaton superchargers under the hood? I know from conversing at Mazspeed that there was the Bonneville, and the Thunderbird, but I don't know what years these were, or how big the engines were.
I also am uncertain of the size Eaton I need, though I expect that any production boinger that sported one will have at least twice the displacement of my lil' 12A. But going by a guestimated redline of about 6.5K for a boinger, how large an engine should I be trying to scavenge an Eaton off of?

I know that the GM supercharger they put on their 3.8L engines was the same for Grand Prix GTP(96-current) Pontiac Bonneville SSEi(93-current) and Buick Park Avanue Ultra (93-current)

I am not sure about the T-birds, but I think it was a either 3.2L or a 3.6, can't remember. I do know that neither of these engines hit the high RPMs that a 12a is capable of, so that might be an issue, but I am by no means an expert.
