camber problems...
 

a while back in my attempt to "drift" i over corrected and slid into a curb. ive since then learned to try this in a more "open" area, but i have a problem. my passanger front tire (one that got hit) is off camber. its .5 degrees out (ive had it on a machine) and the driver side is -1.5 roughly. its noticable in turns right hand turns are "stickier" than left turns when going at it hard. anyways...

the camber things at the top are all the way out on the top of the strut tower, i was thinking about going gc coilovers since they had the adjustable camber/caster plates. good idea? what do yall think would be an easy fix? i dont plan to autox this car MUCH longer, but i do want it to be fixed.

Most suspension shops over here can do strut corrections where they bend the strut in the appropriate direction to correct the alignment. Also allows you to dial in a bit of extra camber. Maybe look into that?

I seem to be real well at bringing up these old threads!! Anyways, EXACT same situation for me as above. Anymore suggestions you guys have? Est price? Please respond I need help!

First off, drifting on the street is stupid and you should have your license taken away, preferably for life.

If you want to fuck around with your car, go to a local Solo II event, pay your entrance fee and dorifto around that course to your heart's content.

Ok, now that I've got that out of the way, you could have a bent strut or lower control arm and you probably mangled the tie rods as well. Good news is that the tie rods are cheap to replace, the strut and the control arm not so much unless you find a good unit in the salvage yard. I wouldn't trust a shop to rebend the strut myself and I don't know of any in my area that would do such a thing. SOP here is to replace the damaged unit, not stress it further by more bending.

It is my camber that is bent. I fixed the control arms and other suspension parts myself, along with the help of a mechanic. Anyone have an estimate of how much it would cost to get fixed?

locally they're starting to not let drifting take place at solo2 anymore, and there are no drift days or anything out here so i dont see how they're going to do it any other way.

Are you sure you didn't slightly bend the part of the axle behind the brakes/hub? Its really hard to do but I've seen it done before and it threw off everyone that looked at it since everything else was straight.

The top of the strut has an adjustable plate used for setting the camber. However, if this change was due to striking something, then you bent something. Replace the bent part for the "proper" fix.

Camber can't be bent, it is a measurement. The rest of you post is confusing, did you, or did you not fix the parts?

If your camber is out, you have bent either: strut tube, spindle, lower control arm, rim or in worst case, the the engine cross member and frame. If you are not sure which part is bent, replace the strut assembly, spindle and lower arm.

I didntt read any of the above. Most likly cause is a bent strut, I've been through atleast 5 of them from nailing curbs. They bend super easy. When you bend a control arm you will know, it bends like a boomerang at the strut rod bolts.
