A/C Question(searched)
Hey guys. I'm going to convert my A/C system from R-12 to R-134A but I'm not sure of what all I need to replace to do so. Plus I'm not sure of the cost of things either. I would keep it R-12 but I just can't afford it. I'm trying to go the chepest route possible as the heat is becoming intense and I have a black interior. Thanks for all the help guys

First of all. Was your A/c working then stopped working?
|
The A/C works, it just blows hot air instead of cold air
|
^then youre a/c is not working. trust me, im a doctor.^
|
a better question would be does your compressor cycle on and off?

Just a tip for you guys with A/C. On all cars that had A/C added at the dealership. There is in most cases no low pressure cutoff switch. This means that you can turn the A/C on and the clutch will engage. If the system has the cutoff switch and the A/C clutch is not coming on then you are low on freon or there is none in the system. Read my just posted thread in this section under amount of refrigerent for further details |
Yeah my guess is there is no freon left in the system
