Bumper cover: repairable?

1 Attachment(s)
I have a pretty decent ding in a rear bumper cover.

Is this repairable, or do I need to repalce the entire cover?

And if I have to replace it, does anyone any know where I can get one in white with black molding at a reasonable price?

Thanks!

I don't know if they are repairable, but you should try www.atlantarx7.com . They have great prices on used parts. A rear bumper for you would be $100.

not easily repairable, it could be done, but would be easier to fine another one. They are pretty easy to change. As for where to get one, someone on here might have a white parts car they would sell you one from. Good luck

I had a bodyshop fix my front bumper cover back when I owned an '82. I don't know what they did, but it held up great. Probably fiberglass.

I used some plastic weld, cleaned up the gash with a file and sandpaper and then used a tiny bit of bondo. Looks ok, but keep in mind it's on a race car, not a show car.

replacement

Hi ther PJR,

try mazmart.com out of atlanta. good guys, big warehouse, lots of stuff.

I ordered lots (seats, doors etc) from them 10 years ago and they are still in biz.

When I worked in Atlanta I stopped by the place, like I said lots of stuff.

If its dented, try a hair dryer. It worked great on my daughters Civic. Small crackes, glue it. Large cracks, rips & tears, replace it.

Geez, I thought I replied. Yep, got it. Actually started to install it this week and found a hairline crack -- drag! But it should be repairable.

They are repairable, depending on how severe the damage is. Check with your local autobody paint supplier. Mine is great with helping me with all of my questions and new projects that I keep getting into.
