Just took a trip back home to Australia and picked up some badges to "dress up" the car. Let me know what you guys think.

It's fun, only a baby though 1500 miles. http://www.rx7wi.org/images/members/...nandbrian1.jpg Me and my friends 82 Mariah mode 1 widebody. It's got a 13B four port, 2nd stage streeet port, Weber 48 DCO and other good stuff. |
Very nice. :) Now put that radiator fan shroud back on b4 your overheat it! :D

I like them all on there, except the Savanna RX-7 one.
That's like putting a Type-R badge on a Civic DX. |
Wasnt the rotary coup badge meant for r100 and rx2? I dont think they came on the rx7's?. I like the savanna rx7 badge but they really only belong on real savannas. Where did you get them?

Nice fb got any pics of other pics of your car (side, front) :).
|
Nice car. Like the badges. Unique.
How much power does the 12a bridgey make, what size chokes? |
what makes it a savanna? it seems to be from the right vintage of RX-7's.

To be a true SAVANNA they must be RHD from japan that were meant for the jap market. In japan rx-3s were svanna's also, and were not badged rx3. rx2's were called and badged "Capella". Im pretty sure the R100 was called the "Famalia". CJG |
I've wanted the Mariah hatch conversion piece for awhile now..........
.....up until I just saw it on your friend's car. Doesn't quite look right, IMO. |
whats so special about having jap right hand drive? besides the right to have a savanna badge
|
Any more pics of that Mariah Mode? Looks like it's missing a gas cap! :p:
Oh, and I like them badges! What's the diff between JDM corners and US corner lights? I can't tell... :( |
The JDM corners have a small square of white facing the front thats used as a driving light, and the rest is orange for the turn signal. The US corners are all orange only.

I like the RE12 badge....

Looks really nice! I like the badges..Sorta different but relevant in a rotary kinda way!

the 79's and 80's (both right and left hand drive) were deamed savanna... 81-85 are/where simply refered to as fb

What the hell? So slapping an Enfini badge on a 3rd gen is ricey? I don't understand this, Savanna is the name that was given to the 1 gen series in Jap. I just wanted to add a little extra flavour. Sorry if my comment offended you in anyway, but it is my opinion. Your RX-7 is not a "true" Savanna. You know, the type that actually came with that badge on it? ;) Also, I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but the true Savannas also had the side view mirrors on on the sides of the hood... like so: http://www.ebbro.com.hk/catalogue200...3color-600.jpg |
As I understand it Savannah was a brand, not a model. Just as Toyota and Honda created Lexus and Acura, Mazda sold the RX-7 under the Savannah name in Japan as a Savannah RX-7, not a Mazda Savannah - dig? 3rd gens were sold as Efini, not Mazda, and Mazda toyed briefly with creating an Amati brand for high-end luxury sedans before abandoning the idea as not economically viable.
FWIW I had Savannah badges on Pam and they looked great. |
I love the one you put on the hood, other than that I dont -personally- care for the rest of em, but the hood one is badass. Whatever you like though. =)

Mazda sold the RX-7 under the Savannah name in Japan as a Savannah RX-7, not a Mazda Savannah - dig? Not to mention it still says MAZDA on the front end... http://savanna-rx7.co.uk/315deg800x600.jpg As for Efini, the FD still has the Mazda logo on the front and rear as well... so I believe your theory is false. They are models, not brands. http://www.rx7-gallery.co.uk/binrx7/...00_image06.jpg God, that is one SEXY ass. :D |
uh oh i smell a long thread coming up.. which at the end two certain people may forget wat the topic even was..
sorry :( ignore me |

Im pretty sure RX3 was a savanna.
The rx3 was badged savanna in japan, it did not have any rx3 badges on it as far as i know, on the rear quarter panel it had "Savanna" http://members.lycos.nl/mazda818/links0.html http://www.somertoncarimporters.com/Rx3%20GSII/21.jpg http://www.somertoncarimporters.com/Rx3%20GSII/92.jpg CJG |
I'm pretty sure that the FD sold under both Efini and Mazda names in Japan.
And I agree with Mantis on this one. The 1st gen you show there is the UK. In Japan, I think they sold them under the Savanna name, not Mazda. |
Dig the badges - where did you get the strut tower brace?
