That engine bay does not reflect 15k miles in any way. The rad, the front, the alternator. I would ask for more engine shots. The brass should still be shiney.

yeah my rad looked much better than that after 190000km, it almost looks like that rust covering area around the coolant sensor, normally it would be greenish in colour

The car looks quite clean, with the exception of the radiator that was mentioned. Though it is possible that the car needed a new one and they pulled a junkyard radiator.

Its easy to swap in a a new cluster, but id think it'd be hard to find a low mileage one. A rollback would likely show some damage to the odometer, though they could have spun it forward to 999999 until it rolled over... but thats a lot of work. Thats the whole reason that I wouldn't buy a car sight-unseen, or from pictures.

Did anyone else notice that the front drivers side 1/4 pannel looks like its a slightly different colour to the rest of the car.

I'd love to buy a car like this! If money was no option I don't think $15 000USD would be close to its value.

I noticed you're in Australia. From the ads I've seen on the Aussie forum, FBs sell for much more there than they do here in North America, even when considering the exchange rate. If memory serves me correctly, some of the advertised asking prices there were in the neighborhood of 8k AUS for decent (but not showroom condition) examples.

A pristine stock '81 to '83 12A-powered FB (non-turbo only here) typically sells for between 3k and 4k in CAN or U.S. funds--- but only if mileage is below 50,000 miles (80,000 km) and has documentation to back up the claim. All service records would also be required. If the car is a stock 13B-powered GSL-SE (I know, not sold in Australia) in the above example condition the value goes up by about 50%. Of course, nice but not perfect non-SE models with over 150,000km can be had for as little as U.S. $1200.

This guy on ebay wants over $10,000 U.S. for this car. He's living in a dream world, at least for the moment. Maybe in another 5 or ten years it might come close to that value but not at this time. Of course, he could ship it to Australia and maybe get 15K AUS for it, but after shipping costs and the exchange hit on his money it's doubtful he'd break even.
