Brake Booster rod at Master Cylinder?

Is this rod supposed to have a jam nut?

The side with the pedal connection does.

The rod that goes into the master cylinder on both my old booster and new boost doesn't have a jam nut. However, the new one is super easy to spin, while the old one doesn't turn by hand at all.

I don't want to fall into one of those situations where the master cylinder never fully returns and ends up locking up the brakes!

Thanks

there should be a nut, either a 12 or 10mm head, before the push-rod screws into the brake pedal. this will secure it or lock the rod in place.

Talking about the rod that contacts the master cylinder. Not the pedal side rod. Pedal side rod has a 14mm jam nut. Master side has nothing to keep the small hex/rounded nub from changing adjustment. I knurled the threads and used lock tight. Setup the length properly. So far so good.

SO nice to have a booster than allows me to idle back down to 700rpm rather than 1000 lol.

pedal connection is not the same as the push rod between the booster and master
