Bolt patern change???
Hello, Some of you have problem to found wheels/mags for your first gen? Shit it's hard.....I both a rex in last september, in now I want change the original one for something bigger, 15" or 16". the problem is, nobody made some.....I think to change the bolt patern to 100 X 4 or 114.3 X 4...... someone dind it before?

Either change to S3 (84-85) setup, which had a more common bolt pattern (and better brakes etc) or have the current stuff redrilled.

isn't there a "kit" out there that changes the bolt pattern? if someone knows, they could chime in. Changing out the front end might be excessive if all youw anted was different wheels.

go here this ebay seller makes wheel adpter for our rx 7...we have 4 X 110mm patter...but it can be changed to a more common type with these adapters...yes this aution ended but just talk to him and he'll hook you up! He does GREAT work! |

ur in luck, check out www.cpracing.ca thats a company that makes wheel adapters for our cars and best of all its in Canada so no hefty duty charges!
Opps sorry i just noticed you still wanted to keep it a four lug pattern the cpracing ones are a common 5 lug pattern. |
yeah the non-se cars were 4x110 pattern w/ 25mm offset and a 59mm center bore. the offset is the real killer there, but with the adapters you should be able to go with a 40mm offset wheel which will put the wheel where it needs to be

The CP racing adaptors are about as thin as they can be made in the interest of safety. Be warned you will have to pull the rear axles to install the back ones, but the fronts should be easy (I'm not using the fronts).

all non gsl-se first gen's are 4x110. the gsl-se is 4x114.3

I've been quoted by the guy on ebay to make a set for the car for $160 shipped. I'm still debating to go this route as a set of rims and tires will cost as much as i paid for my car! |

Wait, that doesn't make much sense - how do you bolt the axle retainer back in with tha disc attached? The disc would have to be attached because the adapter will go on over it. So, can you reach everything with the disc on the axle?

One of the studs is eccentric with a taper on one side. It becomes one of the studs for the wheel as well as being the stud going through the disc and hub. It's rather hard to explain and NOT the way I would have engineered it. There are no strength or safety issues, it's just not elegant. I got the axle retainer back on by tack welding the bolts into it and fitting as normal.
