Body and paintwork q's

I just purchased a 85 GSL-SE and it has some hail damage and in need of paint. How do I properly fill the damage and correctly prep the body for paint?
Someone told me Maaco can lay down the paint really well and if I wet sand it and buff it once they paint it it will look like a 43k paint job. Is this correct> I'm definately on a tight budget!

Tight budget huh???

How bout this, get one of those as seen on TV hotglue dent pullers. Hail damage should be round easy to pull dents. Hell might not have to paint it, if that works

If they are tiny little dents and scratches, bondo is going to be your next best friend and a paint job

but yes u are right they look really good if you do all the pre work. my friend had a 90 accord that had a nice white paint job but he wanted pearl so they just coated over it and at that it looks really good. but if you doi go there you schould tape off all your lights, or take them out, before then and also tape any chrome or black piece you dont want painted, you are getting what you pay for. they do the job they just dont detail it well.
