Saw this, and thought someone here might be slick enough to pull this
off on a factory Mazda radio from the 80's.

I actually like the idea, stealthy and lends to an oem look, seems doable but, unfortunately, my 7 came with a busted 80's aftermarket stereo.

I did something like this to my S4 stock Head unit to provide direct audio input for a CD Changer and XM Radio component. I choose which I want to listen to with a simply A/B switch. After reading the convesation you linked to, looks like I'll be shopping for an A2DP adaptor and another A/B switch.

It was beyond easy to do on my S4 head unit, and just as easy on my FB head unit because of their component design. But I'd have to take the more complicated approach the OP on the linked thread used for an S5 or later not so component head unit.

Definitely good stealth job. But then the tape deck will no longer work. FTW?

Who needs a tape deck when you can just stream your MP3 collection through it?

Of course, you could just pick up a cheap FM transmitter instead, which is what I did back when my car still had an audio system. Or alternatively, a cassette adapter like for better audio quality.

A bit less elegant perhaps, but simpler and fully reversible.

Thought this was a nice and simple solution too!
