auto to manual question, electrical...didnt mention this part in the "PDI"

While looking through the instructions i came across something that was missing. with the gear selector on the auto transmission there is a nuetral safety swtich which doesnt allow you to start the car unless its in nuetrall/park...correct? Well i unplugged the switch and the car doest start, so now i have this selector hanging from the bottom of my MANUAL car. Now which wires out of the "4" do i have to connect so that it will start without the selector being there? Plus! which one is for the reverse lights, i need to find out because i dont want to just cut and play, takes too long.

plus fuses arent that cheap...and why should i risk burning something out. :D

Did you get the wire harness that goes with the manual tranny? For color coding of the wires, GY and RY are the reverse lights, BW and BR are the neutra/park wires. Sec. 15, p10, 1980 FSM. Jumpering those pairs should do the job.

^^^^^^^^^^^^genius^^^^^^^^^^^

i never got the harness with the transmission so im "engineering" it to fit lol

Sorry, not genius. Just have most of the 1st gen FSMs and occasionally know how to read them. You should see if you can locate the harnesss so the backup lights work. However, I am not sure if it will be plug and play with the auto harness.

yeah me neither, but the way that the manual trany works and its back up lights (two wires on the trany?) i should just be able to plug them into a female conector where the harness is cut from the auto one, it should work. SHOULD! lol
