Attention fb guys! Aftermarket parts survey
Hey guys,My brother and I had this plan in mind for many years now, and I think if I am going to carry this on, now is the time.
I want to become a vendor on the club. I have the location, tools, and experience required for making the FB parts some of us want or wish someone would make. Here is the chance to let me know what all would be nice to see someone make. From there I will pick the ones within my capabilities / resources and start the design and trial and error fitting process. I have two FB chassis at my disposal for shop cars. One n/a, one turbo. Both are 13b however so I may buy or go to my friends and pick up a 12a block for fitting. I only plan on supporting FB parts because the other two gens are already covered pretty well in the parts department. Some of the products I am thinking about so far are: - V mount kit with quality side ducting - Coil bracketing for efi guys -HID projector kits for the stock 7" round headlights WITH a complete plug and play harness. Please feel free to throw out any ideas or wishes. I am all ears. Thanks, Hopefully, officially, soon to be Rotary Haven |
What we really need are quality alternatives to the now defunct ReSpeed. Coilovers, suspension pieces, etc.
|
Yup. Seems like the a bbk would be a good thing to make.
Good luck with this. I hope that it works out for you because the fb guys really need someone to fill the void left by respeed. |

Just remember, FB != SA on many issues.

I'm just gonna throw the book at you and post everything I can think of...
HIDs would be awesome but they have been attempted before and generally failed due to the narrow buckets and general lack of room for true projectors. Hot Water Labs has created a flush kit but at $1,000...it's considered far outside the budget for most. HWL FB001 HID headlight kit (United States) / HotWater Labs I'll see if I can think of anything else later to bounce off of ya. |

For sure I could do Oil pan stud kit Aluminum Center Console Blank Battery cable kit Harness Bar Strut tower bars with or without the triangulation And perhaps I can design a upright canister bracket for the direct fire setup I see what you mean about the HID kit. I'm going to search all over for quality projector housings. I REALLY want to carry that item. As well as install it in my car, haha I built my own harness bar, the only draw back is, its a weld in.. As it needs to be shoulder height or better for safety Im not sure how else to discretly do it. http://i43.tinypic.com/54iotw.jpg |
Hid's would be the shit. And those other lights look bad ass but like the dude said a bit pricy! I only paid a grand for my car!!!
|
I would like to see someone make a hub/rotor unit like the KC raceware stuff ( KC Raceware ) but for the 4x110 bolt pattern/offset and the pre-84 small bearing spindles

Truck light led headlights are coming down in price 180$ each opposed to the 260 I paid when they came out. So getting a good cheep hid kit together will bes challenge.

I believe a company called "sevens only" made or makes a hub that can be used on the small bearing spindle. |
Tubular sway bars, front and rear. I had to settle for solid bars, and would love to be able to swap them out to tubular for the weight savings.
|
Panhard bar!!!!!!
Triangular tower bar!!!!! I've got a '80 needing both pieces in the future. Will have a gsl-se rear end if that makes any difference with the panhard. |
speedometer plate, that when you are at , 90- 100mph super saiyan, and 100-110mph, level 3000 , 110mph it sais ,"level over 9000!"

HID is the past. LED is the future.
Im going to be running Speaker Lighting Corp model 90 lights in my Build. Standard 4in Projectors, High and low beam (lows stay on with high). They pull less than 6amps with all 4 lights on. Headlights - Products - J.W. Speaker Corporation They make a lot of jeep and offroad stuff (led durability). I saw a set on a wrangler and knew i had to have them. Lifetime warrenty. |
oh, and my suggestions would be;
new Rack and pinion kit. Custom S4 TII trans to FB transmission mount. Tons of engine mount solutions, no specific one for trans mount. TII brake kit. |
I also think a hood dampener kit would be nice
|
This might be an overly general answer, but basically if you were to re-make (or release an improved version of) basically all the parts Re-speed and G-Force engineering used to make, you would have buyers. Neither of those companies disappeared for lack of sales/buyers (G-Force retired, and re-speed... who knows what Sam's deal is...)

Reasonably priced coilovers and/or good lowering springs
|
Camber/Caster Adjustable Strut top's for stock struts.
|
i agree with others...rack and pinion kit, nice brake lines, TII brakes kit...
|
I don't know if this will be a big seller, but it is impossible to find the break clips for the rear on a 83 gsl/ ls for under 40$. It would be simple to make and would be good for us with that set up.
