Apex seal manufacturers?
Im looking to buy a set of apex seals for the 13b se-s5 hybrid im building, what are some good places to get them? I looked at racing beat, and their carbonfiber impregnated seals but arnt sure if there what I need due to the fact that I will almost never be operating above 8500 rpm, any suggestions would help. thx

get stock seals
carbons are for high rpm and they dont last long, but dont trash anything when they go |
Check out http://www.rotaryaviation.com/new_page_1.htm those seals are supposed to be really good and because they're new, the price is really low!

thanks for your quick responses guyz, and yes I just stumbled across the rotaryaviation site, I think ima go with them considering its so much cheaper and im going with used housings ($$$$ probs). If im the first Ill do a product review for everyone lol

Hurley seals seem promising, but i haven't heard of anyone that has used them.

I'm sure Atkin's or Hurley's seals will last longer than stock mazda. I actually looked into making my own 1 piece 12a seals, but I don't know a good alloy to use and Atkins won't tell.. :(

Robert sells custom high-carbon steel apex seals. They don't put any extra wear on the housings and are being run in his engine that's making 730rwhp. I'll be getting a set soon and I'll let you know how they work for me. |
For atkins apex seals thay are 239.00 a set .

Dont get carbon seals for an engine that wont be at hi rpms most of its life. They are race only seals. They dont last as has been already stated and have lower compression (more blow by) at low-mid rpms.
