Anyone have a driveshaft for 84-85 w/ non-replacable U-joints?
If someone has a driveshaft laying around, I would greatly appreciate your help.
It will, in the long run, save many people some serious dough in the future. In my sig is the information, but also posted here: Rockford Driveline Components Part #: 430-10A U-joint, Mazda RX-7 84-92 ALL So, if someone has a driveshaft laying around from an 84-85 and wouldn't mind taking some measurements, I will post whether or not these U-joints truly fit it. I have an 88 SE (Fuel Injected model) and the U-joints fit mine perfectly. They will fit all 86-91 NA models. I have some guys looking into the TII models and now I need someone here to look for a 1st Gen model(s) that have non-replacable U-joints that Mazda claims you have to take the shaft with and buy a whole new driveshaft assembly. |
I have my SE driveshaft out that I could measure for ya. What do you need, and how could I help?

I need the diameter measured between two of the caps and the diameter of the cap itself.
I will be getting in some new stock next Friday and will post an update whether they match. |
They will fit , ive had them replaced before. I had a driveline shop do the repair tho, and for the small fee they charge Id recommend it :)

Those exact U-joints (model/brand) are what the driveline shop used?
If so, my work is done here then. Back to the 2nd Gen forum where I belong. If not, I will still need measurements. |

I know these have clips where the stock ones where 'stacked in' .. |
