Any ideas on finding a center console gauge face plate?

At one time Manntis had these offered on his web site but they are no longer available.

Anyone know any other place I can find something similar to this? I know I could prob get someone to fabricate something, but if they're already manufactured it may be cheaper.

Eventually I want to install a few critical mechanical gauges in lieu of the stock stuff but want to retain a semi-stock appearance. I'm leaning towards VDO cockpit series (black bezel/black face/white lettering) which is what I had in my 81 GS some 10 years ago..

Thanks

I talked to Manntis the other day, he said he's looking for an alternative way of getting them manufactured, he doesn't presently have access to any.

He's been the only one I've seen with this type of product, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.

How about something made for a Miata? The console dimensions are basically the same, as anyone who's gotten a radio installation kit for one or the other can attest.

Like this. The screws on that one are a little cheezy...could probably find some nice black hex key screws.

That looks promising. I'm not sure I understand the dimensions though..The length appears right (7.25"L) but what exactly is 2.25" T?

Tall, I assume.

Then the plate is only for the gauges, not the radio. That must be a seperate item...Would be nice to have one piece including a standard radio din..

Ah, yes. Definitely for the gauges only. It replaces/covers what is normally a little cell phone/change/dust cubby in the Miata center console.

Another option might be the generic Mazda stereo mounting kit from Crutchfield. IIRC, it came with a blank-out plate that might be tall enough to fit standard guages in. It's black, though.

24.99$ for a peice of aluminum and plastic? Thats insane, crutchfield is a ripoff, you could fabricate something like that yourself easy. Here's partsexpress's with a pocket underneath http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...D=117697&DID=7 or sounddomain's http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item...0B&vq_id=none. They all kinda suck
