Any FB folks convert their shifter boot to leather?
 

I've searched, but nothing definitive. Has anyone converted the rubber boot to something like an SA leather boot? I see some Miata boots that seem like they could work. I've not been successful in dyeing mine back to the maroon.

I really recommend the Redline product. I got the grey/charcoal Alcantara booth for my FB as well as the matching E-brake boot. Adds a nice touch.

My oe shift boot pins were not bad,had one of their leather boots in my GSL. Replaced boot and shift knob.

Excellent, exactly what I'm looking for.

I went with a generic MOMO branded leather boot to match my shift knob, as the top of the boot is the threaded nut that attaches to the bottom of the knob, making for a nice looking setup. All of the plastic pins broke off of my surround, however, so I just measured the leather boot twice, drilled very small holes around the inside of the plastic surround spaced perfectly to match heavy duty staples, and then pushed staples through the leather from the inside to the outside wherever I needed to fit the holes I drilled. Bend the tips of the staples outward and instant attachment. You want enough staples so there's no gaps in the surround, and once installed this way, there's no way to tell how it's attached because everything's hidden inside. Good luck, and it's a lifetime fix vs. messing with rubber boots, plastic pins and metal clips.

Never liked those FB plastic boots myself. They look cheap.
