Ant's Nest!!!
I've had my car for about 6 weeks now. ONe day I drove to my parents house with my 2-year old in her car seat. When we got ready to leave I noticed there were some tiny little ants all over her seat. They were those litte sugar ants, well I think the ants have a nest in the car somewhere. The car sat for some time before I bought it. Now today after I washed it the ants are crawling all over the outside of the car...I haven't seen any on the inside yet.
I've looked under the cargo area carpet, the storage bins, under the spare tire, under the passenger and driver seats, and inside the driver's side door, and of course under the hood. I'm planning to look in the passenger side door, and take out the storage bins to look behind them; so, where else should I look? |
Can't help ya on the car, but I've got about a jillion of those little bastard pissants in my kitchen!!

Put the car in the garage and bug bomb it.
|
If you want to find where they come from put out some bait and follow the tongo line back to the nest.
|
check in the nooks and crannies - take out your storage bins, etc.
If they were on the seats chances are good they have a colony inside - kind of miraculous when you think of how hot it gets in there with the windows rolled up... |

i had a ants nest on the top of my rear mufler. but that was b4 i was driving the car so i dout they would have withstood the heat..
there is alot of little spots in the car that they could sit and bread and u dont realize how many untill u pull the car to peices.. have a look under the front fenders or in the boot down the sides behind the rear wheel arches.. alot of dirt and crap gets stuck in these places.. |
I had a mouse (or something) living in mine over the winter. It lived under the storage bins. Damn thing left seeds and crap all over the place. :(
|
I actually had a wasp colony living by my A/C condenser. Fortunately it was while my car wasn't running. Still freaked me out when I went to get my car going again and I saw their honeycomb-looking hive.
Never going to let that happen again! :D |

I've tried the "Grant's" ant bait thing and right now there are 3 dead inside the trap. But I like the bug bomb idea. Would it be bad to put the car in the garage and place the bomb underneath the car? What do you think? I don't work tomorrow so I might tear the car apart as much as possible before I try the bomb.
|
gasoline and some matches will get rid of them, but on second thought that might not be a good idea ? :)
|
maybe they are in the windshield wiper cowl area they would have access to both the inside and outside of the car

Get some of this stuff called "Revenge".
You put a drop or two of this sticky Boric acid solution on the provided cardboard pads and put them where you see ants present. The ants eat the stuff and take it back to the nest to feed the queen, killing her and destroying the colony. The more ants you have, the quicker it works, so don't kill any manually. The stuff works really fast, and since it's just Boric acid, toxicity to humans is practically nonexistent. |
