alternator question
 
hey i was just wondering if i could use an alternator from a 12a on my 13b.

If you could get the wiring to work. It is weaker I think. Would probably die soon.

I've got a 55amp on my 13B (4 port, so it's old school-ish). I also have two other 50 amp external blade type.

It it going on a 2nd gen? It'll burn out soon, maybe. Just use it as a quick fix untill you can get another alt of equal or better amp rating.

yeah it would be going on a 2nd gen. i was just wondering cuz the alternator from the 12a is in way better shape than the one on my car right now. theres nothing wrong with it just thought that hey if it works why not put the 12a alternator in my car since its in better shape

Is the connector the same? Older ones used a T shaped connector.

if its a 86-88 the FB alt will plug right in, but the power output is quite a bit less, 55amp vs 70amp so it wouldn't do much good.
