Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

What brand would you recommend?

Are they complicated to install? Is there a write up on this setup?

I'm also not sure where I want to mount this gauge, any good ideas? Pics of your setup?

i like the AEM UEGO, also INNOVATIVE makes pretty good ones. the install is pretty easy, the biggest issue will be drilling the exhaust and welding in an O2 sensor bung

its called a wideband o2 sensor :) (right?)

thunkrd 02-27-09 01:03 AM

if you have an se, you wont have to put the o2 sensor bung in

^ assuming you want to either eliminate the PCM's O2 input in exchange for a wideband standalone guage or Y off the stock 1 wire o2 sensor for a not so accurate narrow band guage

I don't have any pics right now, but I have a PLX-250m mounted where the stock clock used to be (gsl-se with circle clock, between heater controls).

The circle gauge is an exact fit, like it was made to go there. I love it and every passenger I've ever had does too :icon_tup: "what's that flashy number-y thing?"

No its a base model so I would have to put one on the exhaust. I've read alot about a bosch lsu wideband o2 sensor being the best. Is that correct? Anyone have better luck with a different brand? Also when I place the wideband o2 sensor i'm guessing I need to put it pretty far back from the headers due to the heat. Where is the perfect spot?

Clearkut 02-27-09 07:21 AM

go with the aem uego, it fits in to the clock no modifications as well, a bung needs to be welded to the exhaust, I went as far back as possible with aem's wireing, and there recomendation to keep the sensor away from hot exhaust 3 years/60000km on the original sensor still reading accuratly

if you have stock exhaust it needs to be before the airpump/cats so it sees the real afr, if no cats/airpump(like an rb streetport system) i put mine right before the muffler at the only point where its 1 pipe and theres just enough room and wire.

Thanks Clearkut.

I have a narrowband AFR. It's an Autometer ProComp Ultralight. Like TastyDanish, I put it in the place of the stock clock, it's sweet.

I think for aesthetic reasons I might switch all my gauges over to Autometer ES gauges so they'll match the stock console cluster.

The ES gauges are black faced with red through-the-face lighting (the numbers are white when unlit). The ProComp Ultralights are white faced with black lettering and around-the-face red lighting. They're just a little too bright when driving at night, esp. with the boost and fuel pressure gauges on the pillar all shiny in my field of vision.

How far behind the header did you put the bung?

I have a RB header and am having the bung welded in today.

Sgt.Stinkfist 02-27-09 09:08 PM

before turbo, i ran an RB 2-1 header and i drilled/welded the header in the middle of where it Y'd together
