aftermarket nikki intake manifold
 

hey guys I ve looked around and I wanna know if there is an aftermarket intake manifold that is more free flowing that fits the nikki?

i've never seen one. i have seen an adaptor that bolts a holley to the nikki manifold, so its possible you could go the other way

However, the stock manifold does a pretty good job as is. Even with a high flowing Sterling Nikki carb, the stocker keeps up just fine.

Well the stocker could be better. Carl tested it on his flow bench at just over 200CFM. OUCH! Porting one out is at the moment your only option for better flow. Making an adapter plate to bolt the Nikki to a RB Holley manifold is an option, but then you run into problems like hood clearance. Reason for that is a Holley carb is shorter than the Nikki.

I've seen a certain way of porting the Nikki manifold that supposedly works wonders. It involves beveling out just the upper section where the shutter valve and whatnot is. If you port it at the bottom or in the middle too much I hear it kills velocity.

Thanks guys, can the stock nikki manifold with a boostprepped nikki take boost good or does it restrict the boost a lot?

Use an SA intake like I'm doing. No shutter valve restrictions and flows better from the get go. Then I ported the bumps out of it.

Boost doesn't really care what's in it's way.

Well, it does, but you can always turn up the boost to compensate, so it doesn't matter a whole lot. I'm sure that's what you were getting at. :)
