acceleration problem

I have an 85 se with 95k. All is well except when you are accelerating through the gears at a normal pace, (not to the floor, like you are trying to get good mileage) you feel hesitation kind of like the amount of power you would lose if the a/c compressor kicked in. No, it does it with or without the a/c on. It is not noticeable at a steady speed, just when taking off. any ideas?

accelerator pump or vacuum leak may cause this.

I have the same problem... And then sometimes it will "kick in" and you'll get the power back eh? Do you also find that you idle at 800 or 900 most times, but then it will drop to 600 intermitently?

I've been advised to ensure that my TPS sensor is set correctly; that it can cause problems like that. I'm going to do that soon and when I do I'll report back.
