yes there is something sacred about them.. the 79s in particular.. i think that in a few more years they will be worth something. but not if they are hacked up with subs and amps.. they need to be on the stock side.. but no one cares.. people also thought that the original vw beetle wasnt going to amount to anything.. but you see how much original ones with low mileage go for these days.. im just saying this is a very very unique car and people need to start acting like it.. its not a regular run of the mill car.

i dont mind people haveing a moderate stereo in their car for THEIR pleasure.. leave the "bangin" systems for the SUV crowd and the "pimped" cars.. i mean werent the rx-7s made for road racing... how you gonna race someone when you have about 500 lbs of stereo equipment in your car..

yes i do.. fast is a relative term... my 12a has whooped up on alot of cars.. lots of people think that my car is fast and they try to race me all the time.. that doesnt mean i dotn know the limits of the car.. i wont lets say race a mustang cobra.. or a turbo awd talon.... but i will take out little punk kids in their hondas and toyotas that think they are the shyt.. just so i can knock them down a few pegs.. plus its so much fin to tell them that they got whooped on by a 1.1 litre.. lol

 

haha pretty much any stock SOHC VTEC civic will outrun a stock 12a FB.

 

^^^Guess the 79 that I test drove a few years back had bins put in it. I wish that I would have bought it. Had 90k on the car 40k on the engine, full black leather, red exterior and lo pro BBS rims. And all for 800. I made a deal with the guy to come and pick it up later(next day) and he sold it from under me! Man that was a sweet looking car!

One way way to not get ricers to race you is to have a brown car! I hated when ricers would line up and want to race my z-28...they thought they had a chance...it was just annoying.

Regardless of the obvious grammar, I am in the process of taking the bins out like the one shown in his attachment, but I plan on keeping the lines of the frame from it, and just making the bin area big enough for my 2 12 inch Infinity's. Then to top it off I'll probably buy some of the replacement carpeting from Vic. Brit. and cover the speakers in the stock carpeting.

 

Coming from an '80 owner, if you are into mods of any kind, stay away from '79-'80 models. There are just too many parts that aren't made anymore for these cars.
