Yes - they can. There are several ways. For a ruff cost estimate, maybe $50-$100 per wheel based on option. I do powder coating and can tell you most of the labor is in sand blasting. it takes me a couple hours per wheel.
Options: 1. Sand off the old coating. Then either have them re-clear coated or polished. 2. Have them sand blasted and clear coated. 3. Have them sand blasted then powder coated clear or in any color. 5. Sure there are more. |
thanks Kansas City!

there is a place called wheels america, and for $125 per wheel they give you back something that looks new.

I have heard of that company. A wheel shop is usually the best place to take wheels as they ensure the wheels are straight before any recondition is performed. I have a set of 83 LE wheels that I need to have restored. Gonna cost me quite a bit but the finished product will be worth the cost I feel.

If you have your wheels refinished do yourself a favor and have the wheels balanced with "tape-on" weights on the inside of the rim. I have never understood the concept of clipping a lead weight on the lip of an aluminum wheel that has a protective clear coat finish on it. In my humble opinion it looks tacky and leads to surface corrosion down the road.
