85 GSL Brakes confused
I thought that the front and rear discs only came on the SE, But i realized that my 85 GSL has them. Are all GSl's like this? I thought they were front disc rear drum.

The GSL's were the top-of-the-line RX-7 until the GSL-SE's came out.
The GSL's had 4 wheel discs, LSD rear, different interior options, sunroof, ect. The GSL-SE's added the 13B 6port FI motor, different tranny gearing, ~4.100 rear end gears, bigger front rotors, bigger, vented rear-rotors, upgraded suspension (tokico shocks and struts, higher spring rates, lowered trailing arm mounting points), bigger rims (14"), a different bolt pattern (4x4.5, I believe) and V rated rubber to the already venerable GSL. The GSL's rear, btw shared the 3.090 ratio gearing of the rest of the 1st gen's. --matt |
Speckamp is right on...
For us wrenchin' Cowboys the big difference in the brakes is because the SE has bigger brake rotors the bottom bolt that halds the caliper to the backing plate is Soooooo much easier to get to and take out when your do pads, and stuff... Denny, from the abandoned corncrib... |
