'85 12a clutch fork confusion

Howdy y'all.

Managed to break my pressure plate the other day, and my clutch was about to go anyway, so I'm replacing all the bits I can while I'm in there.

Already got my clutch kit ordered, but I've got some serious confusion on what clutch fork works with my transmission, and if I can even get an aftermarket fly wheel for this particular combination anymore.

Looking at Atkins, it looks like the only clutch fork available for my model year is designed for the 13b, from '84-'88 (N204-16-520)
Is this part the right one for my 12a engined car?

In addition to this... If I'm reading this correctly, in order to have an aftermarket/lightweight flywheel you need a counter weight precisely matched to your rotor weight of your engine/year. From the charts I see on Atkins and racing beat, the '85 12a count weight isn't available anymore? That would be a bit of a bummer.

Anyone have some information on this? Thanks in advance, I'm dying to drive my 7 again

You will need to source a used counter weight. Put up a WTB ad and/or start shopping ebay/craigslist/facebook for one. Not sure about the clutch fork part # issue.

I have a couple of clutch forks. 12a's and the GSLSE 13b. I will take measurements and report here tonight.

Oh man, I'd appreciate that. I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure this one out. I searched it a bit, but couldnt narrow it down for certain.

Good point on the counterweight... Nothing wrong with a used one. I might post a wtb in a day or two once I decide if I'm going lightweight or not, and if I can't just use another model year - which I don't think I can.

Thanks GSLSEforme

Thanks for that, I'll go ahead and order a new one then.

The split was 11/84 prior to that,GS,GSL clutch release fork # 8540-16-520A. After 11/84 clutch release fork # N204-16-520 is used on GS,GSL,GSL-SE

Confusing! I appreciate the info. I'm still pretty new to the rotary world and learning as I go.

Good Luck sourcing the 83-85 counterweight, as they are pretty rare. I got one on eBay that was an 86+13B counterweight that was rebalanced for 83-85 12a. Im building an 83 spec motor for my 82Gsl.

I think I'm just going to start looking a counter weight now. I managed to find a good machine shop that was familiar with rotary flywheels to resurface mine, but I'd love to get a lightweight steel or aluminum one later.
