84 GSL Front Sway Bar Question
 

I've searched and searched for a picture to compare to my FB sway bar set up, but was unsuccessful.
Picked up this FB a few weeks back and this sway bar set up does not look right to me. Almost looks like previous owner was trying to stiffen up the sway bar??

Yes, that is totally weird! These are a drop in replacement that matches OEM: https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/7...-9-8123g-.html

I just replaced mine with Energy Suspension bushings and hardware - and I have to agree that yours doesn't look like either factory or (correct) replacement.
Note that your top bushings look like they were replaced (appear red poly to me) and the bottoms still look like original rubber...
Since the distance between the bushings still looks to be stock I would guess that when previous owner swapped out the bushings they maybe replaced the bolt holding it all together with a longer one, then used that spacer to compensate? I can't see how the extra length (just sticking out the bottom) would make any difference to the suspension.

I'll bet someone bought "universal" endlinks that were too long and that was the only option to make them work. The threaded part of the bolt likely wasn't long enough once the sleeve was cut, so they put it below as a spacer.

Functionally, its fine but that would bother me too.

How did you get those boots and bushings off?
 

Hi, in currently doing mine and it's like the sheath is stuck to the bolt. Nervous about getting the angle grinder so close to the control arm if I have to chop it off to replace it. I had to do that to the rear sway bar bolts.
