82 muff and stuff

Is the 82 stock exhaust system twin pipe all the way back from the thermal reactor? I noticed the muffler had a twin pipe connector...

flip the muffler around :p:

the exhaust from the thermal reactor is just single pipe... not duals.... the thermal reactor collects both the exhaust ports from the engine into one pipe and dumps out after that. That's it.

The stock muffler has two outlets I believe, but only one inlet.

there is a Y inbetween the cat and the muffler

I know the 81/82 muffler has two inlets but I'm using a road race header/racing beat Street Port Exhaust System Center Section that connects to a stock 82 muffler.. so I don't know where the Y is..

I need to get a 1981-82 RX-7 Power Pulse Main Muffler to complete my exhaust...

its right before the bend over the rear axle

'82 stock exhaust: God help me... the bane of my existence...

Engine > Exhaust Manifold
Exhaust Manifold out > one pipe
one pipe to Preconverter
Preconverter to Cat > one pipe (still)
Cat out one pipe into an extension pipe that divides the airflow into two pipes just before rear axle, where it connects to the muffler assembly. The inflow to the muffler, and the muffler outlet is through two pipes, but from the engine to the rear axle, it's all one pipe. I could trace the friggin thing in my sleep! OY!
