82 GSL only starts when it wants to
 

So I've been having some recent issues with my RX7 and I was wondering if the experts here could help me. Basically a few months back I had my car in to have a new fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and ignition coils installed as well as my Holley carb tuned up. The car runs and drives great but it sometimes just won't start. Usually it'll start once a day, maybe twice. So ill take it out and park at someones house and when its time to leave it just wont start. It turns over and the carb is spraying fuel and the spark plugs are new as well. I really don't know what it could be at this point. Hope this was descriptive enough!

OK, so I'm not a total pro but I do have an idea of where to start.

1st: Check all wiring between the distributor and the coils. the wires are 30+ years old and likely cracked or possibly loose on the ignitors or the coils.
2nd: Pull the leading plugs and check for spark when cranking the engine. Then the same with the trailing.
3rd: Ignition switch possibly faulty? Not likely, but possible.
4th: Run a compression test. Post the numbers and more experienced people than I can help with that.

It could be flooding. Do you get it warm before shutting it off? I mean that temperature gauge needs to move to at least 1/4 or 1/3 to be really sure its warm enough, otherwise shutting it off will likely flood it, especially in cold weather.
