82 GSL to 85 GSL-SE rearend swap

I was wondering if anyone has converted the rearend from an 82 model to an 85 GSL-SE model? If so, what all has to be changed? I know the rear half shafts are different but believe the final drive has the same ratio. Can just the half shafts and limited slip be swapped into the 82 axle housing or does the entire rearend, driveshaft, etc. have to be changed? Will the driveshaft/trans require modification? Thanks!

Remember that if you do swap the whole assembly that your bolt pattern will change in the back from 4x110 to 4.114.5. The SE axle assemblyalso weighs a whole pile more than the earlier '82 and down axle assembly. Why are you putting in the SE rear end? You've already got a GSL with the disc brakes and limited slip diff.

I put an '81 unit into my '79 and it works great.
