'79 LE Dash clock question
 

now i know this is a rare piece, but does anyone have any information about operating the digital clock on these? I can provide a pic if needed

i can adjust the time by pushing the rod in, however it will not stay illuminated after i release the push pin. only when it is pushed in does it stay lite up :(
any help is appreciated. i'll try to get a pic up today as reference.
Only 3000 of these dashes were made i believe, so i know there might not be a lot of tech support

When the ignition is on, the clock should illuminate continiuosly. At this time, the acuation stem is in its central (netural) position. With the ignition off, it lights up only when the stem is depressed and goes out when you release it. So you should have power to the clock if you have illumination at all. If the ingition is on and it goes out when you release the stem, I'd suspect a contact problem somewhere on the stem. Where it makes contact while in the netural position.
Could be something as simple as getting it out and carefully working some contact cleaner or WD down the stem where it enters the clock behind the dash face.

You adjust the display by rotating the knob while in the netural position. Pulling out the stem just resets the display to zero minutes of whatever hour it happens to be on.

yes mine only illuminates when the stem is depressed. i will try to take my gauge cluster out and have a look at the back side for connectivity issues

I really like the digital clock....my analog clock doesn't even work! :-(
