6 Port IDA

Anyone on here running (or has run) a Weber IDA on an -SE motor with stock ports? I just newly aquired a beautiful low mileage rust free 84 -se with no intake. I am fairly familiar with weber carbs and will eventually be turning this into a huge streetported frankenstein 4 port with an IDA.

Wondering if its even worth wasting the money getting the manifold to bolt up to the 6-port and driving as is for now. I imagine it will be quite a while down the road until I build the new motor.....

Are you thinking of adapting a 4 port IDA manifold to the SE engine?
I don't how much work that would involve, but there's already an off the shelf 6 port IDA manifold from Racing Beat.

didnt think my message was vague. Question is should I buy the manifold designed for the 6 port so that I can run the car immediately or just wait until everything is complete and only have to buy the 4 port one....

Thats up to you. I ran a 6 port with a weber and I LOVED IT! When I rebuilt the engine I converted to a 4port but I went with a Holley. I think you should buy the manifold and run it now! lol

so after thinking about what it is Im really trying to ask I have come up with this: I already have my 12a with a 45DCOE that runs really well. I bought this new car specifically for the -se engine with hopes of building a monster streetported 4- port at some point plus the car is in great shape. How differently will a 13b 6port with a 48IDA run from a 12a with a 45 DCOE mounted to a lake city intake?

Will it be night and day or should I just hold off and be content with one running 7? Buying the IDA setup will probably stall building the 13b 4 port another year.

i used to run a GSL-SE 13b with a weber 48
( actually a HB cosmo RESI engine,, but meh, same thing )

a very good thing,, go there ,, dont look back
above 2500 rpms-
would shit on any 12a with DCOE set up
would still shit on the same GSL-SE engine fitted with holley,, fitted with modded nikki,, or fitted with those DCOE's

42 chokes ,,fuel jetting was around 200 ,, air jetting around 140 , tubes f11's,, idles 65/100 IIRC
( for sea level and up to 100 F ambients )
this will change though with your ambients
