5th and 6th port actuators with air pump?
I just bought a 85 gsl-se and remmoved all the cats and the air injection tube. I've got the aquarium valve to hook the air pump up to the 5th and 6th port actuators so they will open without the air injection tube hooked up to the exhaust. Once i tap into the output tube from the air pump do i cap of the port at the rear of the manifold where the 5/8" air injection tube originally hooked up?

Do you still have the ACV installed?

ACV??? All i removed was the 6" of rubber hose and the steel tube connected to it that originally went to the cat. There was a valve in that tube is that the ACV?

anyone? waiting to complete project, thanks.

Normally when you remove the air pump you remove the Air control Valve located on the side on the intake manifold. It is what the large hose that comes off the back of the air pump attaches to. You install a block off plate in place of the ACV.
When you run a header you always do this but with the stock exhaust manifold you don't have to if you don't wish to. To answer your question about capping over the tube at the back of the manifold. No, you do not have to. |
Thanks for the info.
