42mm offset - GSL-SE - Will this work?
Will a 42mm offset work on a gsl-se with 16x7 rims and 215/50/16?
Please help. Thanks, |
I'm running 205/50/15's on 7" rims with a 40mm offset and the clearance to the front strut/spring mount is about 1/8" so I doubt they will fit

For 16" go with a 205/45. That'll keep the overall diameter closest to stock. My rims are 7.5" wide, and 215s would rub.

I have a 40mm offset and run:16*7 with 215 40 16
and in the rear I use 225 40 16 Yokahama A520 I found all 45 series tires hit even with a rolled lip. |
42mm would be pretty tight. Not tight like "Dude, your car is tiiight!" but tight like "The reason your tire blew is because the offset caused the clearance to be too tight and your sidewall got chewed up. Hope you have a speedy recovery, and I'm sorry about your car."

So...... the offset he should be looking for is aroun 38-40, for 16x7 rims, and use 205/45/16's? Just curious, I hope to be looking for rims in the forseeable future.
Stock offset was 40mm on 14x6 right? |
14x5.5 is the stock size

not to steal a thread or get bashed either..... im looking to get 17s eventually and i was wondering what offsets i would be good with...
i sure max knows.... but any one else have some ideas ( i may get 16s dependin on how good of tires i want and rim but anyways) thx shaun |
So can someone here recommend what offset would work best for 7" wide rims? I am also upgrading to 15"x 7" soon and I want to use 205s in the front and 225s in the rear.

Thanks guys. I decided to get some 16x7.5 with 40mm offset. I have 215/50/16's that I'm going to try, I'm just a little worried about the front rubbing......

i have 16x7 in front with 38 offset and they are damn close with 205 50. 16x8 in the rear with 215 45, these could go to 225, thats next month
