4 Port or 6 Port???? Please Help....
 

I need some help here....

I am having another engine done for my car, cause I want it faster....

My car has a Supercharger in it:

I have a choice to either put a 6 Port in it, and port it out, or I have a choice to put a 4 port, using turbo housings, and port it out.

I trust that all of you will help me decide which would make my car faster. I'm not that car smart when it comes to these rotarys.

I need to decide pretty fast here, as this project will be starting soon.

From what I understand, you can get quite a bit more power out of a well-ported 4-port 13B. Your low end torque will be shite, but you have a supercharger, which will make a world of difference. Get the 4-port if it's possible. Which car is it going into? I have this thing about not putting older 4-port engines into SEs, but any engine going into an SA or 12A FB is fine :confused: Good luck with the car! You really ought to post some more info about your supercharger. Inquiring minds want to know!

Get the four port. No doubt about it. Ever wonder why all turbo motors were 4 port? With a supercharger you will more than make up for lost low end torque, and you can really portg the shit out of a four port whereas a 6 port can only get a very small street port.

You should be able to talk to dave atkins (i'm guessing he's the one building the motor) about your choices. The way I look at it, a 6 port may be better ONLY if the 6 ports actually work. With the atkins manifold you wont have anyway to acutate the 6 ports so just go with the four port.

I cant think of one good reason why you should go with a 6 port. Also is atkins selling the 9 and 12 inch superchargers yet?

Actually, with the 6 port I was told that all ports are open with the Supercharger set up....we checked the specs on both today...and theres really not too much difference between the both....

I hope Im right by saying this, but I have a raw Supercharger, "still learning", it's from Atkins rotary (Camden Supercharger)...of course it takes modifications to have the blower put in.

This is the second Supercharger that I have had....there sure is a big difference in the "new and improved" Superchargers now "wow"...since "Camden" has pretty much perfected them..

Yes, I think they are selling the 9 and 12in blowers. Sure wish I could put one of those in my car...lol.

The reason why you dont want a 6 port housing over a 4 port housing if the aux ports are open, is because the 4 port will flow MUCH better than the 6 port.

The eingine I will be running is a older 4port housing setup with 89-92 TII rotors, clearanced, VERY large street port, 3mm apex seals, high flow oil pump and regulator.

I have been awaiting a listing of their 9-12 inch blowers.
I will be pushing around 400hp at 13-15psi with a 9inch;)

Atkins can hook you up with a top power 13b for your application, they know their stuff.
