Motor looks great! I'm into VW's also.
the VW motor is a 1900cc with a Engle 460 cam and duel Solex carbs. the exhaust is a tee-pee and the motors going into a sandrail. we started it on the shop floor the other day and man that thing rumbles!
Nice pics. What electric fan are you using?
Its a fan out of a V6 Pontiac Fiero, fits nice, cools the motor great!, and a relacement motor is like $20 bucks!
Hey piston did you get your carb from Mazdatrix?
Yes I sure did get it from Mazdatrix, its the best upgrade I've put on my car!. For $800. it better be damn good!.
Nice engine. The pics could have used more lighting though.

What are your spark plug wires and where did you get that other blue hose from?
those other blue hoses look like silicone hoses.. check hose technique
piston pounder: that carb is a webber (i am guessing) but what intake manifold is that?
The plug wires are NGK's, the other blue things are not hoses but they are my custom wiring harness with blue wireloom wrap over them. The intake came from MazdaTrix as well.
that is a wiring harness.. god damn that is beutiful.. i would definatly like to know exactly what you did with it (like what suff you kept, how you disconnected it from the headlights, how you closed off all the other random connections that you did not need, etc.....)
Well it was a pain in the butt and took forever unwraping everything, but it came out pretty nice. You just start cutting wires that you dont need anymore and then pop the connectors out of the harness plug!. I also re-directed the wires to the firewall instead of running them across the engine. Thanks for the comment! .!peace!
