2gen direct fire

I did the 2gen direct fire conversion and was wondering if doing this would require the timing to be adjusted? Seems like my fuel mileage dropped 1-2 mpg. Seems to run fairly smooth. Just wondered if anyone has had to make a timing adjustment?
Thanks.

I noticed the MPG drop as well, I did not do anything to the timing....but I plan on putting the light on it and maybe seeing if a tweak will change anything.

You're probably getting on the gas pedal more. People tend to do that after an ignition mod. ;)

You shouldn't need to adjust your timing with a 2nd gen coil (check it, though). If you had gone with an MSD, then yes you would need to because the MSD has a different amount of compensation.

Guilty on the pedal charge!!!

Timing on mine didn't change, unless you count the time it takes to GAS ON IT!! That did change.
