1st Generation Savanna Rx-7 - photos
Hi folks,
I'm trying to make some sort of list with photos of any remaining Savanna Rx-7 1st Generation cars. Maybe if there are a few of them I'll put them on a page on my own Savanna website at: http://savanna-rx7.co.uk If anyone has any info where any of them are, worldwide, or if you know of any photos I'd appreciate it if you'd honk my horn or something. Thanks, Frank (North Wales) |

ioTus and BRealistic,
Hello - thanks for the responses. In fact the engine is a 12a 6-port version which seems to have been produced for this Savanna Ltd Edn for the Jap home market. Yup! I like the rotor wheels too, they were in poor shape when I got the car but have refurbished well. I replied B4 but must have pressed the wrong button - story of my life !!!! Best wishes, Frank - North Wales. |
It says it has a 12a 6port. So weird I was thinking about that earlier.
(edit: ok I was a moment too late) |
That is an amazing car. It makes me want to paint my air cleaner black.

wassup Frank, this is gamble from wheelspecs.com
nice to see you finally got more pics. i guess my drooling over your car got you motivated to let others drool too? :P 6 port 12a's are sposed to be teeny tiny ports right? |
Hello Gamble
Hi Gamble,
Nice to see you on here also - yep - you finally got me clicking away and improving the website a little. There are just one or two more to add and then I'll have it pretty near covered, photographically speaking. Big ports, teeny ports - honest Gamble, I'm no techy that way so I'm ashamed to say that what I know about car engines wouldn't run to more than 100 words. I'll learn - but it's knowing where to start that's the problem and everyone else seems to know such a whole lot! See you around - thanks for bobbing on. Frank Someone was asking where the air intake tube thing went to - well it just stops dead just off the photo just to one side of the radiator. Thanks to ALL for looking and for being as interested in it as I am myself. I really love this car even more than a couple of Series 1 cars I had from new. It was worth waiting over 21 years for. Best wishes from up on this windy hill in Wales, Frank |
Frank,
As somone who last year at this time knew NOTHING about cars in general, let alone my baby, I can tell you it isn't that hard to learn, it just takes time. Spend some time reading the forums, even if you don't have a clue what they're talking about. Don't be afraid to ask newb-ish questions, and make liberal use of the search. And if you dont have a shop manual - get one :) They're only like 20 bucks at a local parts store, and can help you alot. I started with what broke :) Simple bolt-on parts like clutch cylinders and starter really give you a boost of confidance. Spend some time looking at your engine compartment and playing "what's that thing?" with your shop manual... It sounds childish, but it helps :) Hope I helped you find a place to start, we always love having new people on the forum, and you have one hot car :) Jon |
Okay now, 6 port 12a. What's the increase in power...and how the hell can I make my car have 6 ports?!?!?!?!!?!?! :mspank:
|
rotor wheels OWN. Where can I get some?
6 port 12a sounds pretty awesome too, if the ports were big enough to support some high-rev action. I take it none were available in US/Canada? That's a REALLY nice car, good job keeping it up! |
Originally posted by TheTwinTurboRX-7 Well thats an awful bold statement. My friend is the one here in New Orleans who owns the RHD Savanah. It is indeed a 77. Any other doubters care to make assumptions? Sorry, but your friend has a 1st run SA22C, '79 model year, from the home market. That's still cool in it's own right. |
