1st gen steering knuckle size? (to compare to rx5 for bump steer spacer)? ?
so I just finished up the front coilovers for my 76 rx5 cosmo, and as I suspected, i'm going to need to get some bump steer spacers once its as low as I intend. but of course nothing is made for the cosmo, so I'm hoping I can use some from a 1st gen rx7?
I took some measurements of the cosmo knuckles, and I was hoping someone could do the same to a car they have taken apart? or something along those lines. to the outer edge of the bolt holes https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035...da07108b67.jpg inner edge (obviously, since they are 14mm bolts) https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058...1118daa4a1.jpg and the inner diameter of this part... not sure how much this part matters, but as long as its close I guess? https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4048...eeece14f10.jpg and a shot of the coilovers https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4021...a50c403bcd.jpg the angles are pretty good right now, but its at max height. so once it goes lower, I'm going to run into some problems I think. if anyone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated. |
oh, also if anyone has the length of the actual steering arm, that would be great. planning to shorten these ones anyway, but if 1st gen ones happened to be shorter maybe I could just use them instead....
thanks. |
You can try checking with Billy. PM him here or get with him over at http://www.iwankel.com/

The center to center distance of the two mounting holes is 3.150"/80MM. The mounting holes are 12mm diameter. The center recess is 1.650"/41.9mm
The steering arm length is 5.7" measured straight from the ball joint to the tie rod. -billy |
damn, thanks SOOOO much.
I need to do some re-measuring.... doesn't look like they're going to work. :( |
